Violin Lessons

Mary Helen Weinstein was raised in Marin County, CA, and played in the Marin Youth Orchestra. After earning Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in violin from Eastman, she earned teaching credentials in multiple subject and music at National University in San Jose.


A private teacher since 1973, Mary Helen was a member of the San Jose Symphony for 17 years, and has been on the faculty at Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View since 1998. She is also the parent of a child who studies music.


Mary Helen has performed with New Millennium Quartet (classical), String Thing (jazztet), and In The Pocket choros and Brazilian jazz. She has performed at CSMA's jazz jams and combo recitals, Community Showcase, jazz jams, Dana Street Coffee, Stanford's Coho, Milan Pizza, Oak City, Anjelica's Bistro, CooperVino, and Rengstorff House.
